John Michael Checks Himself Into Rehab
John Michael Montgomery has voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation treatment center at an undisclosed location for substance abuse (due to severe anxiety attacks and sleep disorder) and has cancelled all concert dates and personal appearances for the next 30 days.
Jennifer Hanson's New Album
Jennifer Hanson will release her new album, Thankful, as a digital exclusive on June 3 on Universal South Records. The album includes "Joyride" and "'73," as well as an appearance by Vince Gill on the title track. This is Hanson's first album for the label, after releasing an album on Capitol Nashville in 2002. She is also known for co-writing the Wreckers' "Leave the Pieces" and Bucky Covington's "A Different World."
Eddy Arnold Passes Away
Eddy Arnold, whose mellow baritone on songs like "Make the World Go Away" made him one of the most successful country singers in history, died Thursday morning, days short of his 90th birthday.   Arnold's vocals on songs like the 1965 "Make the World Go Away," a top 10 pop hit as well as a No. 1 country hit, made him one of the most successful country singers in history.
More Artist Have Been Added to ACM Awards!
Kellie Pickler, LeAnne Rimes and Toby Keith have been added to the lineup of performers for the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, May 18. They join a roster of previously announced performers that include Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland.

Also during the show, Kenny Chesney and George Strait will perform Shiftwork for the first time before a live audience. The Top Five hit is from Kenny’s latest CD, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates.

Trace Adkins' Hollywood Continues

Thanks to his great participation in "The Celebrity Apprentice," Trace Adkins has garnered plenty of interest in film and TV. The latest development, according to the Associated Press, finds him performing the theme song to "Black Gold," a series that will debut on truTV June 18.
