| Jamey Johnson's New Album Coming on Vinyl |

 Jamey Johnson's known for playing a style of country music that harkens back to the days when the only way you could buy music was on a vinyl record. Now, the songwriter has decided to release his music in the same way. Johnson's upcoming album will be released on vinyl the same day as its CD form."That’s how I listen to music," Johnson says. "It’s my favorite, No. 1 preference at home, to go put a vinyl record on my great grandmother’s old record player." Johnson recently celebrated his last record, "That Lonesome Song," being certified gold with 500,000 copies sold, something he couldn't have expected as a kid. "Hell, I never even dreamed of it as an adult," he said with a laugh. "When we found out the album went gold, I said, ‘We’re going to need a whole lot of plaques because I want to be able to give them out to everybody.’" Though his new release doesn't yet have a release date, he's already sent the first single "My Way to You" to radio stations and will make the track available as a free download on his website, www.jameyjohnson.com, on Monday. It will be released to digital music stores on August 11. |
